Designing for Pedestrian and Bicyclist Safety - Springfield, IL
The Designing for Pedestrian and Bicyclist safety course is a two-day training that covers the fundamentals of designing streets with nonmotorized road users in mind. The course will provide participants with information about:
· Methods for identifying and prioritizing safety problems
· Factors that influence pedestrian and bicyclist safety
· Strategies for improving safety for pedestrians and bicyclists
Expert instructors from the Federal Highway Administration and VHB will facilitate the two-day course, which will feature a blend of lectures, interactive work, and field exercises. Please dress appropriately for weather conditions. Individuals working in transportation planning, engineering, and design are encouraged to participate.
