Objectives: 

  • Encourage designation of a weather watcher.
  • Identify the NWS products and services that are available before and during special events.
  • Supplement special event incident commander’s interpretation skills of NWS products.
  • Attendees will learn how to determine special event shelter/evacuation times.
  • Provide attendees with an established process for monitoring weather conditions.
  • Share prompt and actionable messages, to include stakeholders.
  • Provide public awareness information.Management of overall information flow among players/participants/jurisdictions.
  • Mobilize all critical resources and establish command, control, and coordination structures.
